5th November 2020
Further updates have been announced which supersede our earlier updates.
The Furlough scheme has now been extended to 31st March 2021 with employees receiving 80% of their normal salary. The Government will pay the 80% (same claim process as is currently in place) with the Employer covering any Employers National Insurance and any auto-enrolment pension contributions.
The scheme will be reviewed in January 2021 to see if Employers need to contribute more.
The maximum claim amount is £2,500 per employee per month.
In light of this change, the Job Retention Bonus which was planned to be paid in early February 2021 for employees retained during the Furlough period, will not now be paid. Similar funding may be available in the future but is not yet confirmed.
For SEISS claims, the Grant percentage is now 80% of average profits and covers November 2020 to January 2021. The maximum claim amount is £7,500 (£2,500 per month).
Claims can be made from 30 November 2020.
